HERSHEY, Pa., September 5, 2023 — The Hershey Company (NYSE: HSY) today announced its inclusion in the 2023 Fortune Best Workplaces in Manufacturing & Production™ List, assembled by Great Place To Work® and Fortune. This is The Hershey Company’s first time on the list, coming in at number 14. "Great Place To Work® Certification™ is a highly coveted achievement that requires consistent and intentional dedication to the overall employee experience," says Sarah Lewis-Kulin, the Vice President of Global Recognition at Great Place To Work. She emphasizes that certification is the sole official recognition earned by the real-time feedback of employees regarding their company culture. "By successfully earning this recognition, it is evident that The Hershey Company stands out as one of the top companies to work for, providing a great workplace environment for its employees."

Balancing the power of its workforce with state-of-the-art technology and industry-leading capabilities, Hershey recognizes that its people are its greatest asset and invests in professional development, employee empowerment, family support and community engagement to ensure all employees can do their jobs to the best of their ability.

Hershey’s employee value proposition, Lead Today, Create Tomorrow, has driven recent achievements and initiatives around Hershey's manufacturing workforce experience, including:

  • Equitable & Accessible Workplace: Hershey promotes an equitable and accessible workplace by actively investing in employee development programs and adapting its facilities to accommodate different needs. Last year, the company launched its first U.S. bilingual manufacturing facility in Hazleton, Pa., known as its Say Hola initiative.

  • Performance-based Incentive Program: Hershey’s new reward system for hourly employees offers monetary awards based on employee performance, participation and achievement of regional and plant-specific goals.
  • Parental Leave: Hershey offers industry-leading parental leave for salaried and plant employees so parents can spend the time they need with their families.
