Our commitment to environmental stewardship is both global and local, and applies across our business. We work to protect the environment and conserve resources across our supply chain. Our efforts start in cocoa farming regions, where we support farmer education on environmentally sound farming methods. In our manufacturing, we emphasize resource conservation, emissions reduction, recycling and waste reduction. Reaching towards consumers, we focus on reducing packaging materials to minimize waste and improve our environmental impact. We operate our own corporate recycling center, diverting standard recyclables as well as packaging films, ingredients and more from the landfill.

The Hershey Company has strong relationships with environmental organizations in our communities. We support the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the Manada Conservancy, the Swatara Watershed Association, Clearwater Conservancy, the Pennsylvania Resource Council's Lens on Litter Program and the Pennsylvania Envirothon.
