Corporate Diversity & Inclusion
The Hershey Company is dedicated to workforce and supplier diversity. There is great value in the differences that make each individual unique. Embracing new ways of thinking and diverse management styles, as well as the experiences and abilities that come from bringing together people of different backgrounds, only serves to make Hershey a stronger company.
We have instituted a number of diversity councils and affinity groups to support the company’s workforce. These groups include the Women's Council, African American Affinity Group, Hispanic Affinity Group, Asian Affinity Group, Prism/GLBT, Network of Young Professionals and the Sales Diversity and Inclusion Connection.
Employee Work/Life
We actively work to enrich the lives of our employees and retirees through competitive wages and benefits.
To foster greater physical health, we've instituted a wide array of wellness programs, including fitness centers at our corporate campus, workshops and on-line resources, incentive programs and wellness campaigns. We have a tiered medical plan that favors employees on the lower end of the wage scale.
All full-time employees are enrolled in an incentive plan and we have a matching program for employee 401(k) contributions. New employees participating in the company's 401(k) plan receive an annual three percent company-paid contribution whether or not they contribute.
Adoption assistance is available, in the form of financial support and paid time off. In recognition of this program, the Hershey Company has been named one of the "Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces" by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
The Hershey Company offers benefits to domestic partners.
Through our Corporate Contributions program, we offer college scholarships to dependents of employee and retirees, and fund a matching gifts program for employee and retiree contributions to institutions of higher education.
The Hershey Company supports employee volunteerism. Through our “Dollars for Doers” program, we donate $250 to any charity designated by each employee who volunteers at least 100 hours in a given year.
