'Tis The Season to Be Minty(TM)': Hershey Foods Introduces First-Ever, Limited Edition Kisses Mint Chocolates for Holiday Season

HERSHEY, Pa., Nov 4, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- For millions of people, the joy of the holiday season means unwrapping something special that only comes along once a year. This holiday season promises to be a little more special when HERSHEY'S KISSES chocolates -- for the first time in its 95-year history -- unwraps its Limited Edition KISSES Mint Chocolates.

'Tis the Season to Be Minty

Beginning November 1st the new KISSES Mint Chocolates will be "in season" at major supermarkets, drugstores and mass merchandisers across the country. In keeping with the holiday season, the KISSES Mint Chocolates will feature silver-and-green-checkered foil wrapping and a plume with the word "Mint" in green lettering. The seasonally decorated 12-oz. bags will retail for approximately $2.50.

" Limited Edition KISSES Mint Chocolates have the same great, milk chocolate taste that consumers have come to expect in a HERSHEY'S KISSES chocolate, plus a smooth, creamy, minty flavor that promises to add a little 'jingle' to the holiday season."

Hershey is supporting the launch, aimed at women 18-40 with children, with an extensive print advertising campaign -- featuring an individual HERSHEY'S KISSES Mint Chocolate with the copy "'Tis the season to be minty," and a 12 oz. bag below with a call-to-action encouraging consumers to, "Get them while they're still in season.(TM)"

The ad will appear in magazines including Better Homes & Gardens, Rosie, Martha Stewart Living, Bon Appetit, Family Fun, Parenting, US Weekly, People and TV Guide. Additionally, the world-famous HERSHEY'S KISSMOBILE cruiser -- which features three oversized versions of HERSHEY'S famous candies, a HERSHEY'S KISSES chocolate, a HUG'S chocolate and a HERSHEY'S KISSES mint chocolate -- will distribute free samples on its tour across the country.
